Administration

The College comes under the administrative framework of the Kristu Jyoti Group having a string of educational institutions all throughout Kerala and beyond. This Group is owned and operated upon by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation of the St. Joseph’s Province Thiruvananthapuram. The CMI congregation since its origin in 1831 has been contributing to the educational upliftment of Kerala society. At present, the Kristu Jyoti Group owns 300 schools,20 First Grade Colleges and Vocational institutions. All these entities work overtime for the educational well being of the state of Kerala. Today, Kristu Jyoti College stands at the crossroads of absorbing into it more progressive and entrepreneurial courses which can transform the lives of our students and undoubtedly these courses do go in tandem and conformity with the fast-changing trends and tendencies of the world.

The administration of the college comes under the stewardship of the Kristu Jyoti Group of educational institutions operated upon by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation of the St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram. Ever since its inception in the year 1831, the CMI religious congregation has been rendering its educational services to the people of Kerala and further afield irrespective of their caste, creed, gender and other identities. The congregation also played a pivotal role in the spread and propagation of modern education on the soil of Kerala. The CMI congregation was put in place by Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara. He was the one who commenced the First Sanskrit Catholic College in Kerala in 1846. Since then the CMI congregation had built up an array of formidable educational institutions which went on to bring about sea changes into the educational domain of Kerala and beyond.
