SPORTS CLUB

Sports club of KJCMT is committed to provide an opportunity to learn teamwork at work, coordination among diverse cultural & ethnic groups and mainly infuses discipline & instills the value system in one individual. The Sports Club of KJCMT are vested with the following objectives:

• To organize sports day every academic year
• To organize indoor and outdoor games
• To build up positive attitude, self-confidence, courage, patience, sportsmanship and foster intimate friendships among the students
• To reduce the stress level of students and improve their health
• To encourage students to get involved in the overall development of the club
• To develop good social relations between the students through sports and recreational activities

Inter-Department Football & Cricket Tournaments

The Sports Club of Kristu Jyoti College of Management & Technology organized and conducted Inter-Department Cricket & Football Tournaments on 15-08-2023 and 11-11-2023 respectively. Overall, nine teams from different departments were participated (270 players) for both the tournaments. Top players were selected from each team based on their performance to constitute college cricket and football teams. The purpose of organizing such tournaments is to nurture the talents of interested student players and providing adequate training facilities as per the requirements to participate in university zonal wise tournaments.

Annual Sports Meet 2023-2024

The Sports Day of the academic year 2023-2024 was organized on 2nd March 2024 from 8.30 am to 12.00 pm. The official programme began at 8.30 am with a silent prayer. Ahira Mary Tom welcomed the gathering. Rev. Dr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, Principal, KCMT, presided the function. Fr. Akhil Karikathira CMI, Bursar, KJCMT Group, delivered the chief guest address. The student representatives, marked the official beginning by the torch lighting ceremony. After that oath was taken by student representative. Prior to the events on this day, cricket and football tournaments were conducted in the month of October. The various events conducted were 100 m dash, 200 m dash, shot put, discus throw, 4x 100 m relay, long jump and bike slow race. All the events were separately conducted for both girls and boys except relay and bike slow race. Winners were acknowledged and prizes were distributed by the dignitaries. The event came to an end by noon. A total of 122 students participated in the event.
