Pre onam Celebrations-Chinganilave
On August 17, 2023, from 11:00 am to 11:15 am, the ethnic club of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology celebrated Chin gam 1. Mr. Mithun Varghese welcomed the audience and gave a brief history of Chin gam 1, which is the first day of the Malayalam calendar and marks the beginning of the harvest season in Kerala.Following the introduction, the traditional dance of Kerala, known as “thiruvathira,” was performed. This dance involved participation from all departments of the college, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. After the thiruvathira dance performance, Abin and his team presented a Western dance performance, adding a modern and dynamic element to the celebration. The ethnic club at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology is an integral part of the college community, aiming to emphasize the value and significance of integrating other cultures and traditions into the structural system of the institution. This celebration of Chin gam 1 and Onam reflects the college’s commitment to embracing diversity and fostering cultural awareness among its students and staff. Lastly, toward the end of the program, the title of the college’s Onam celebration was announced, signifying the beginning of preparations for the upcoming Onam festival, which is one of the most important and colorful festivals in Kerala.
Activity II
Ethnic Food Fest
The ethnic club of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology conducted the Ethnic Food fest on 10 th November 2023 from 9am to 4 pm in kristu Jyoti college. The programme was commenced at 9 am. students brought together various food items and offered a seamless experience.
Ethnic community is a part of the KCMT family that strives to elevate the importance and necessity of integrating the various cultures and traditions in the structural system.
The students from all department engaged actively. The students prepared the dishes by themselves. The food fest also offered the students with various dishes and drinks. Teachers and students together participated on this event making it most memorable. The food was very tasty and delicious. It was appreciated by all
Activity III
The ethnic club of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology conducted the Ethnic Day Celebration on 14th February at 12:00pm in K J auditorium. It was organized by the students and cultural committee in charge Ms. Malu Varghese& Ms. Cina Mathew along with her team. The programme was commenced at 12pm with a powerful DJ performance by DJ Zaviyox.
Ethnic community is a part of the KCMT family that strives to elevate the importance and necessity of integrating the various cultures and traditions in the structural system and a DJ party performed by DJ Zaviyox, one of the famous DJs in cochin. It was an interactive element that the students couldn’t stop talking about! all of the departments of the college were actively involved in the Ethnic Day celebration.
