Research in Social Work Scope & Challenges
The Department of Social Work at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology organized a seminar on “Research in Social Work Scope & Challenges” on 6th January 2025, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. The objective of this program was to provide awareness about the scope and importance of research within the field of social work. It would help students understand the diverse areas where research can make a significant impact, such as policy development, community welfare, and intervention strategies. The esteemed resource person for the event was Dr Surya Krishna, Assistant Professor and head from the Department of Social Work at Kristu Jyoti College of Management & Technology Changanassery. The program started with prayer song by department choir. TSW Sreya B delivered the welcome speech, warmly greeted attendees and outlined the significance of the event. After the Welcome speech Dr Surya Krishna lead the session. Throughout the session ma’am shared the best practices for conducting research in social work, including qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection techniques, and ways to address challenges related to research in real-world social contexts. The session helped the students to develop a deeper understanding about the importance of research in social work profession. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by TSW Arya Harikumar
