FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

DAY 1

The Post graduate department of commerce  organized  the first faculty training program  of the  year on 29^th October ,2019.The topic  of the session was Emerging Trends in Technology  and New Business Models and were handled by Dr.Vineeth Kumar Nair, Associate Professor, TKM  Institute Of Management. The Program begins at 9.30 am on the Seminar hall and continued as a three hours session. The faculties from various department attended the Programme. The concept of Industry 4.o,Disruptive Innovations and new business models from the focal part of the discussion. The Programme ended by 12.30pm .The session was rated much fruitful by all the facilities.

DAY 2

The Post Graduate Department of commerce organized by the second faculty training program of the year on 5/11/2019 .The topic of  the session was Research and Research Methodology, Social Science Research in Commerce and Management Disciplines and Systematic way to research Paper handled by DR.RAJESH PYNGAVIL ,Associate Professor and HOD of Rajadhani Business School,Attingal,Trivandarum. The Program begins at 10.am to 4pm on the seminar hall .The Faculties from various department attended the Programme.

DAY 3

The Post Graduate Department of commerce organized by the Third faculty training program of the year on 07/11/2019.The Topic of the session was Latest Statistical Tools(SPSS,AMOS) handled by DR.PRAKASH PILLAI.R, Head and Associate Professor ,Loyola College of Social Science, Trivandrum.The Progarmme begins at 10 am to 4.30 Pm on the Computer Lab .

National Level Five Days Faculty Development Programme

Date:02/08/2021 to 06/08/2021

Time:6.00Pm to 8.00Pm

Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with ICAI Kottayam Branch and IQAC, held a National level faculty development programme on Recent Trends in Accounting and Taxation . The virtual  meeting was held through google meet from 2nd Aug,2021 to 6th August 2021. The first session was on 2^nd August, 2021.The topic during the session was IFRS converged Ind AS -Need and Major changes. The programme commenced at 6pm with a prayer song by department choir Rev. Fr Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, inaugurated the session .Dr. Varghese Antony addressed the gathering .Keynote address was given by resource person CA Amal  Paul .He gave a detailed note on the subject matter followed by  queries and panel discussions. Indeed, the session was a great success as the gathering were able to clarify their doubts regarding the topic. The session ended with a token of gratitude expressed by Mr.Jestin Joseph .On 3rd August, 2021, topic on  Digital Transformation of Finance and Accounting was covered. The session commenced at 6pm followed by a prayer song by Department Choir. Ms. Linomina Mathew gave welcome address. CA Biju VR was the resource person for the selected topic. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Asst.Prof.Mr.Titto Mathew.On the 4th day of National level faculty Development Programme topic on the subject matter"Latest changes in TDS and TCS provisions was covered, the session commenced at 6pm Department ther's followed by a prayer song by departmental choir. Asst.Prof.Mr Vivek Vijayan addressed the gathering Keynote speaker on the selected topic was CA Nithin N, followed by the queries and panel discussion .Asst.Prof.Ms Krishnapriya  gave vote of thanks. On day 5^th of Aug 2011, topic on " GST basic concepts Registration and Returns was covered. The session started at 6pm through google meet. The session was followed by a prayer song, Asst.Prof.Mrs. Rosmy Joseph  gave welcome speech. CA Sreeraj Ramchandran gives a detailed note on the subject matter followed by Q&A. The session was concluded by a vote of thanks by Asst.Prof.Ms.Sruthymol.On the last day of faculty Development programme, topic on Input tax credit under GST was covered: The session started at 6pm followed by prayer  song by department choir .Asst.Prof. Ms.Neeraja S.Raj  gave welcome address. CA Jacob Baboo gave keynote session. The session had Q & A session. As a token of love certificate of appreciation had given to all the respective resource person on the very day itself after the commendable talk at the end by Dr.Anu Antony ,NAAC,IQAC Coordinator & PG Course Coordinator. Special certificates has also being provided to all the Moderators and Technical advisors at the end .Asst.Prof.Mrs.Thushara Sojan reminded the gathering about upcoming event organized by  the Department of Commerce and end up with words of gratitude .The programme concluded with National Anthem.

Expected outcome:

• To have an insight into new perspectives of Accounting and Taxation
• To get an awareness on, transformation happening in accounting and Finance
• To understand various provisions in TDS and TCS
• To explore the basic concepts of GST and Registration procedures
• To have a in depth knowledge about Input tax credit
