The Equal Opportunity Club at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology (KJCMT) is dedicated to fostering a campus environment that embraces diversity, equality, and inclusivity. Talk on Human Rights
The ‘Equal Opportunity Cell’ in association with the IQAC conducted a session to enlighten the students about the topic ‘Human Rights’. The meeting was held in the seminar hall on 17 th of October 2023 at 2.00 pm. The Principal, HOD of computer application department, the IQAC coordinator along with the teachers in charge and students graced the audience. The program commenced with a prayer song which was followed by a warm welcome speech. Thereafter the Principal, Dr. Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI delivered a comprehensive presidential address to the congregation. Shortly after that our guest speaker Mr. Lalumon Joseph, serving as the Deputy Tehsildar at the Changanacherry Taluk Office, shared his insights with us on the topic – Human Rights. The session on ‘Human Rights’ conducted by the resource person was an eye opener to the audience. The students were made aware of the basic human rights offered by our Indian constitution along with insights on gender equality. The resource person skillfully and enthusiastically engaged the audience by inculcating general knowledge and current affairs in the session. The students responded with a positive attitude and receptivity. The seminar was formally concluded with an appreciative vote of thanks.
Poster making competition
On December 11, The ‘Equal Opportunity Cell’ in association with the IQAC conducted a a poster making competition to commemorate Human Rights Day, which falls on December 10. The event aimed to raise awareness about human rights and promote equality. The competition took place in room number 504 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and saw the enthusiastic participation of 14 students from various departments. A total of 14 students showcased their creative talents by participating in the poster making competition. The diversity of participants from different departments contributed to a rich and varied display of ideas and perspectives on human rights and equality. The success of the event was made possible by the dedicated volunteers from the Equal Opportunity Club. The volunteers, namely Mikhil Reji, Anu Tiji, Joel Jacob, and Ashwathy Anoop, played pivotal roles in organizing and coordinating the competition. A panel of judges carefully evaluated all the posters based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall impact. After thoughtful consideration, the judges selected the top three posters for recognition. The winners were awarded certificates to acknowledge their outstanding contributions.
