English Department of Kristu Jyoti College of Management & Technology observed Constitution Day on 26th November 2021 at the Seminar Hall of the College.In connection with this Day's observance, a function was held in which the Vice-Principal of the college Dr.Varghese Antony delivered the Keynote address in which he talked about keeping our constitutional values intact.
The International Day of persons with Disabilities is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992. Disability inclusion is an essential condition to upholding human rights. The Department of English, KCMT has shown its commitment to the most excluded groups in our society- the disabled, by organizing a Charity Drive on 3 December 2021. Rev. Fr. Joshi Cheeramkuzhi CMI, Principal, KCMT presided over the meeting held at 11am in the college seminar hall. The students undertook the noble initiative of donating a wheelchair to the college to mark the day observance. Further, the students donated stationary items collected by them, to the poor home.
The inauguration of the Food Fest, “Foodsworth”, conducted by the Department of English was done on April 1 2022 at 10am in Kristu Jyoti college. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhi CMI, inaugurated the function and delivered the inaugural address. The students of the English Department participated in the inaugural function.
The Department of English, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology organised an Interdepartmental virtual Friendship Day Competition in observance of friendship day 2021. The competitions were a fusion of talent, imagination, creativity and alertness. Students from various departments participated in the Pranking Competition and Memory Scribble Competition hosted by the English Department as a part of this year's Friendship Day.
Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology has celebrated its 65th Kerala Piravi Day on November 1st based on the theme Thanima 2021 from 9:30 am -11:30am. The programmes were organized and conducted by the English Department of KCMT. The Department Head, Mr.Cijo Joseph Chennelil, Ms. Sheena Susan Baby, the class teacher and department teachers Ms. Nissy Praise Binoy and Ms. Nisha T coordinated the programmes in a gracious manner.
The Nation Day of Unity, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, was observed in the college. On the occasion, a poster designing contest was announced. The students were asked to register for the contest through a google form. The theme of the contest was “The different shades of Indian unity” The students were asked to submit the entries either through offline or through online mode. The entries received were subjected to scrutiny, by an expert panel and the winners were announced. E-certificates were awarded to all the participants.
The Onam celebration programs was an idea taken up by the English Department owing to the COVID times. The program coordinators conducted the programs with utmost care and the topic of the Onam celebrations was “Veetil Irunn Onam, Kayy Kazhuki Onam, Chill Cheythu Onam”. The meeting on 23 August 2021 was presided over by the Head of the Department, Mr. Cijo Joseph Chennelil. The whole program was attended by 45 participants on Google Meet platform.
The International day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is an international observance promoted by the United Nations. The Department of English, KCMT has shown its commitment to the society by observing world social justice day online through Google Meet, on 21 March 2022. Rev. Fr. Joshi Cheeramkuzhi CMI, Principal, KCMT presided over the meeting held at 10am online. The main objective of celebrating the day is to raise a voice against social injustice and to bring the various communities internationally together to eliminate poverty, gender discrimination illiteracy and religious discrimination.

The Department of English, KCMT has shown its commitment to the society by observing world social justice day online through Google Meet, on 20 February 2022. Rev. Fr. Joshi Cheeramkuzhi CMI, Principal, KCMT presided over the meeting held at 11am online. The main objective of celebrating the day is to raise a voice against social injustice and to bring the various communities internationally together to eliminate poverty, gender discrimination illiteracy and religious discrimination.
The Talent Day of the first and second semesters students was conducted with much fanfare in the Kristu Jyoti Auditorium on 24th November 2021.The formal function of the Talent Day was presided over by Rev.Fr.Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI,the Principal of KCMT and he also delivered the Presidential address. The HoD of the English Department Mr.Cijo Joseph Chennelil gave the felicitation in the formal programme and thereafter the formal programme, the cultural programmes of the Talent Day ensued in which the first and second semester students excelled in the items such as songs, western music, dances, skit, fashion show, classical dance, carnatic dance and also in mimes.
The Department of English, Kristu Jyothi College of Management and Technology organised a virtual essay writing competition on June 21 2021 as a part of International Yoga Day. The topic for the essay writing competition was “Yoga- A Holistic Rejuvenating Exercise”.
