Charity Visit I
Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology always makes sure to impart moral value among students. The College never fails to help the most deprived people of society. In order to inculcate compassion towards the society, B.Sc Psychology students of Semester 1 Batch 1 were taken to Navajeevan Trust, Kottayam. The trust work for a stigma free society by creating awareness among public, that all are equal and have equal right to live in the society with pride and also they provide adequate and qualitative services to the mentally and physically disabled with the help of generous people around the globe.
Charity Visit II
The Semester 1 Batch 2 students of post graduate department of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology visited Bedhany Ashram (Prathyasha Bhavan), Kuzhimattom. The department always makes sure to impart moral value among students. The College never fails to help the most deprived people of society. The trust works for a stigma free society by creating awareness among the public that all are equal and have equal right to live in the society with pride and also they provide adequate and qualitative services to the senior citizens with the help of generous people around the globe.
Charity Visit III
The Post Graduate Department of Psychology organized an outreach program to Little Servants of the Divine Providence, Kunnamthanam on 30- September-2022. The visit was conducted by B.Sc Psychology students of Semester 3 Batch 1 and Batch 2. The students were given a cordial welcome by the staff and residents of the center. The students interacted with the residents and had a great learning experience. The students had a deep understanding of the suffering of the bedridden individuals of their age. The students also presented various recreational activities and also handed over a total of Rs. 9000/- for the center. The staff gave detailed talk on the importance of serving for the poor and underprivileged sections of the society. They emphasized on the struggles they face on a daily basis. Despite the challenges they face, they were highly satisfied and inspired the students to join them in their venture to serve the psychologically and physically challenged individuals.
Charity Visit I
A charity visit was held by Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology by the Post Graduate Department of Psychology on Saturday, November 18 under the guidance of Principal – Rev.Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, Sectional Head – Mr. Cijo Joseph, Ms. Jilu Mary Luke (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology), Ms. Meethu Mary George (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology). The venue of the visit was Ashraya Charitable Society, Kottarakara run by Mr. Kalaypuram Jose. The purpose of the visit was to provide mental and financial support to the helpless people. Each student donated a minimum of 250Rs. and was able to donate a total of Rs. 20,000.
The visit was on Saturday, November 18. The journey started at 8a.m from the college premises with a total of 73 students accompanied by Ms. Jilu Mary Luke (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology) and Ms. Meethu Mary George (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology). The team reached Ashraya Charitable Society at 11a.m and had an interactive session with residents of the charitable society which was followed by an official meeting and programs conducted by the students.
The visit had a significant influence and had a great output. The residents at the charitable society were overwhelmed, grateful and happy to see the students and with the interactive session they had with the students. They also enjoyed the cultural programs.
Overall, a great job was done by putting in all the efforts to collect the required money and to arrange the cultural programs to make the visit a grand success.
In conclusion, the charity visit held by the Post Graduate Department of Psychology was a great success as the students were able to provide the charitable society with certain amount of money and mental support.
