Career Counselling on Process Based Psychotherapy: Shifting Focus from Syndromes and Protocols of Treatment
The Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology conducted a webinar on 11th January 2023. The resource person of the day was Dr. Gitanjali Natarajan, Professor, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. Dr. Gitanjali took an excellent session on process based therapy and commented on the significance of implementing customized and individual tailored treatment practice rather than focusing on the norms and protocols of treatment that does discriminate and bias against individual differences of people. The Programme was livestreamed in YouTube and participants joined from other countries too.
Webinar on “Pathways to Success : Navigating your Career in Psychology”
The Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised a webinar on “Pathways to Success : Navigating your Career in Psychology” on 19th February, 2023 at 6.00 pm. Mr. R. Arun, M. Phil. Clinical Psychology Trainee of SRM Medical College, Chennai was the resource person. The Platform used was Google Meet. The programme was conducted with an intention of making students aware of the career opportunities in Psychology. The session discussed academic efficiencies of various universities and colleges in India and the courses offered by them. The session successfully implanted information regarding various career opportunities in Psychology and the way in which it can be achieved by the students.
Career Counselling – “A session on the Exploration of learning possibilities and opportunities Overseas”
The Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised a session on the Exploration of learning possibilities and opportunities Overseas on 17th February, 2023 at 2.00 pm. Ms. Arya Mukesh, General Manager, Insight International Study Pvt Ltd was the resource person. The programme was conducted with an intention of removing dilemmas related to higher education and career opportunities in students. The session discussed academic efficiencies of various universities in India and the courses offered by them. The session successfully implanted information regarding various career opportunities and the way in which it can be achieved in students.
Chances and placement of VFX industry
Chances and placement of VFX industry A Career Guidance session was conducted on 6th February 2023. The resource person of the session was Mr. Sreejith M, a career guidance officer in MAAC. It was a vibrant, engaging and interactive session indeed. It was a programme that did a world of good to our students in terms of themselves gaining lot of knowledge regarding various career options available to them in different domains of life.

The Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised a webinar on Career Prospects and Higher Education in Psychology on 17thJanuary, 2023 at 7.00 pm. Ms. Devu Rajeev, Guest faculty of Central University of Tamil nadu was the resource person. The Platform used was Google Meet. The programme was conducted with an intention of removing dilemmas related to higher education and career opportunities in students. The session discussed academic efficiencies of various universities in India and the courses offered by them. The session successfully implanted information regarding various career opportunities and the way in which it can be achieved in students.
Session on “Career Perspectives in Psychology”
The Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC organised an interactive session on Career Perspectives in Psychology on 24th February , at 2:00 pm. Mr. Aravind R Nair, De-addiction Counselor, Navajeeva Kendram Rehabilitation Centre was the resource person. The outcome of the session was to create an insight into the career perspectives of Psychology.
Activity I
Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised Seminar session on Career Counselling Program: “Career Prospects in the field of Psychology “on 20th June 2023, at 10.00 a.m. Mr. Mr. Abhishek Mathew Varghese M.Phil Clinical Psychology entrant, NIMHANS Banglore was the resource person. Total of 125 participants were take part. The programme begins with a prayer song by Ms. Tessa Antony of 3rd year BSc. Psychology. Mr. Cijo Joseph delivered the welcome speech delivered the welcome speech. Presidential address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, Principal, KCMT. Outcome of career counselling session was, it helped to gain clarity on career goals, identifying job market trends, evaluating one's skills and competencies, gaining knowledge about various industries, and exploring different career paths. The session wound up by a vote of thanks by Ashna Mosses of 3rd year B.Sc. psychology.
Activity II
Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised Seminar session on Career Counselling Program: “A Window to the World” on 28th November 2023, at 2.00 p.m. Mr. Malcolm Davidson the International Project Manager at St. George’s University of London, was the resource person for the program. Total of 72 participants took part in the program. Ms. Aleeta T Mathew and Ms. Ahira Mary Tom from B.Sc. Psychology Semester 1 conducted the prayer song. The sectional head of the department Mr. Cijo Joseph delivered the welcome speech. Mr. Malcolm Davidson explored the possibilities and opportunities for young graduates in the different streams of academia. Mr. Malcolm Davidson is the International Project Manager at St. George’s University of London, UK. He has an exemplar professional record of work experience from various institutions such as London South Bank University and International House World Organisation, to name a few. Mr. Davidson has been working for the St. George’s University for approximately 2 years now, ensuring the cultural and academic diversity of the institution. With almost a decade of work experience in education and other fields, he offers a plethora of novel information and opportunities for the young graduates. The students responded to the programming with enthusiasm and took an active part in it. The majority of participants thought the information was extremely pertinent to their educational and job queries. They valued the thorough strategy that covered numerous job pathways and academical opportunities fit for various backgrounds. The career counselling program has helped to attain specific outcomes tailored to the needs and goals of individuals seeking guidance in their psychology background. The students got more awareness and understanding of how the global trends in education and job market is changing and how to develop oneself to be able to reach the highest possible level of professional competency.
