Soft Skill Development
The undergraduate department of commerce from the kristu Jyothi college of management and technology had meticulously arranged a soft skills development session for the students of B.com Computer Application batch one. This class lasted for a duration of one hour covering the topic of ‘group discussion’. It was throughout hosted by Ms. Jerin Ann Johny (Assistant Professor Department of English), an experienced teacher within the prestigious campus on 12th of January 2023. The class made the students to grasp an understanding of what a group discussion is and what are the prominent features necessary for an effective group discussion as well as the values and skills that are put to evaluation at the time of a particular group discussion. The students were also taught the rules of a group discussion as well as the various kinds of it. Finally we were shown the process of a group discussion in steps and to conclude the students were made to do co-related activities. To the end of the class the host efficiently conveyed the importance and proper proceedings of a group discussion.
Workshop on Home Decor
A Workshop on Home Décor was organized for the First Year B.Com. Finance and Taxation Batch 1 students on 18 January 2023 from 10.00 am to 11.00 am. Mr. Jojan Thomas, Assistant Professor at St. Joseph’s Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Pala was the resource person. The workshop aims at developing the students’ basic skills in home decor. This workshop aided in improving the creativity of the students which may help them in future in their day to day life. The programme came to an end with words of gratitude by Ms. Thara Brigeeth Thomas.
Skill Development Program
PG Department of Commerce of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology Chenganacherry hosted an event to enhance the interview skills of the students of B.Com Computer Applications , Batch I semester II . The event was coordinated by Ms. Shincy K urian, class tutor of the same class. The event started with a prayer song(by Miss. Annu Ann Mathew), welcome note was delivered by Miss. Ann Mary Suresh followed by the keynote address by Mr. Titto Mathew . During the session, he discussed almost all the aspects regarding the techniques that is to be adopted when we are attending an in an interview. It was a very useful session for the students. The event was concluded by the vote of thanks (by Joel Biju Job).

During the session, she discussed almost all the aspects regarding cake baking with demonstration . It was a very interesting session and the students enjoyed a lot. The event was concluded by the vote of thanks (by Miss. Ann Mary Suresh).
Soft Skill Training Programme- Workshop On Home Chef
Under IQAC, a soft skill training programme was conducted on 27th January 2023 to enhance and instill the art of baking among the youngsters. This was a great opportunity for the students to know about baking and its evolution. Through the live and interactive class, the students were not only able to learn new skill but also get a chance to taste the cake that they had made. The students of B.Com FT Semester 2 Batch 2 along with their class tutor Ms. Rosmy Joseph under the guidance of the trained chef and entrepreneur of Cake Zudio Ms. Rushin Nijil made a chocolate cake that the students and teachers loved. From the response of the students it is well understood that this programme was a big success.

Soft Skills is a very popular term nowadays, used to indicate personal transversal competences such as social aptitudes, language and communication capability, friendliness and ability of working in team and other personality traits that characterize relationships between people. Soft Skills are strategic to be successful in personal and professional life then is essential for the students when they try to obtain any kind of job. Enterprises generally hire new employees, in particular recent graduates, taking more in consideration their Soft Skills than their Hard Skills.PG Department of Commerce have organized soft skill development class to improve the communicative abilities of the students. It was held on 11th January 2023.The venue for the programme was New Exam Hall, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The resource person of the day was Ms.Devi Sundar(Faculty, IBFS Changanaserry)The class started at 10:30 am with a welcome speech by Ms. Merlin James. Orientation session commenced by 10:35. The session successfully ended with a vote of thanks by Sruthi Thomas. Students found the class very useful.
Workshop on Home Chef
A workshop on home chef was conducted to all the 6th semester B. Com Finance and Taxation (Batch-2) students. It was conducted on 27th of January 2023 at 2 pm. Ms. Rushil Nijil, Entrepreneur (Cake Zudio, Changanacherry) took the class and also did cake baking live. The session was really interesting and it helped show students how to improve entrepreneurship skills.
Workshop on Resume Preparation
Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organized a Workshop on Resume preparation in association with IQAC to B. Com Finance and Taxation 3rd Semester, batch 1 students on 09/01/2023 at 3.00 pm. The workshop started with a payer song by the college choir. Later the welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Sruthymol Joseph, Assistant professor, Post Graduate Department of Commerce and class Tutor of B. Com 3FT1.
The workshop was about Resume preparation it was taken by Ms. Jeremy Jain Babu, Assistant professor, Department of English. The workshop was very useful. It helps the students to prepare a better resume by themselves.
After the class the vote of thanks was delivered by Adithya Krishnan K U Class leader of B. Com 3FT1.
Soft Skill Development Training on Home Decor
The Post graduate department of commerce conducted a training session on Home Decor in association with IQAC on 18th January 2023. The venue was room number 801. There were 48 Students for the session. The main motive of the training was to make aware about the field home décor and to show the opportunities in the field. The session was handled by Mr. Jojan Thomas. He is the faculty of St Joseph Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. The program started at 11.15 am and completed at 12.30 PM. Students give a very positive feedback about the class and also the topic of the training was completely new for them.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organized a Workshop on Table Etiquette and Manners in association with IQAC to B. Com Finance and Taxation 4th Semester, batch 1 students on 27/01/2023 at 12.00 pm. The workshop started with a payer song by the college choir. Later the welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Krupa Sajan student of B. Com 4FT1.
The workshop was about Table Etiquette and Manners it was taken by Mr. Sibi P John, Assistant Professor, Marian College Kuttikanam. The workshop was very useful. It helps the students to get an awareness about Table Etiquette and Manners.
After the class the vote of thanks was delivered by Ansa Mariam Jerry student of B. Com 4FT1.
Table Manners, Basic Etiquittes
Soft Skills is a very popular term nowadays, used to indicate personal transversal competences such as social aptitudes, Table Manners and Etiquittes and more. Observing good manners prepares children to be a patient, confident, capable adult who can function in a variety of social situations. Being polite is never offensive and everyone appreciates being treated with respect. So inculcating such habits was the objective of this programme. PG Department of Commerce had organized a training programme on Table Manners and Etiquittes to improve the social skills of students. It was held on 27th January 2023.The venue for the programme was class no.803, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The resource person of the day was Mr. Siju Thomas (Assistant Professor, Marian College Kuttikanam) . The class started at 11:15 am with a welcome speech by Ms. Chinmai Shankar. Orientation session commenced by 11:20. The session successfully ended with a vote of thanks by Ms.Anita Antony. Students found the class very useful.
Soft Skill Development - Group Discussion
The soft skill development class for 6th semester B. Com Finance and Taxation (Batch-2) students was conducted on 12th December 2022 at 10:15 am. Devi Sundar, a talented freelance trainer took the class about improving professional skills. She is an Adjunct Faculty of Employability Skills with Mahindra Pride Classroom and various colleges of Kerala region, Corporate Trainer of IOCL, Muthoot Fincorp etc., an IELTS Trainer with Ufaebr & holder of NSQF Level 6 Communicative English Trainer Certification of ASAP Kerala.
She took the class on group discussion. And how to improve the skills related to it. She also talked how we can use the skills in their career as well as our day-to-day lives. Then, she divided the students into different groups and gave them all separate topics for an activity. Almost everyone got a chance to present their topics on-stage. She continued the session by explaining about boosting their confidence when it came to individual performance and performing in front of a crowd. The session was insightful and mind-opening. The students really enjoyed it and they felt much better prepared to face hurdles related to public speaking and teamwork.
Enhancing Creativity. “Basics of Film Making"
B. Com. Computer Applications Batch 1l of Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organized a Programme for enhancing creativity “ Basics of Film Making “on 18 January 2023, at 10.00am. The programme began with a prayer song by class choir and thereafter the welcome address delivered by Mr Jeremy Ray Samuel Student Representative. The outcome of the program was to develop creativity of students. The programme ends with the vote of thanks delivered by Mr.Abel Binu Mathew, Student Representative.

The Post graduate department of commerce conducted a training session on Interview skills development in association with IQAC on 9th January 2023. The venue was room number 801. There were 50 Students for the session. The main motive of the training was to make confident to face various interviews. The session was handled by Ms. Devi Sundar in the training they provide demo sessions on interview and Group Discussion. The program started at 10 am and completed at 12.30 PM. Students give a very positive feedback about the class and also the topic of the training was completely new for them and also help them to understand various strategies to crack interview.

Ms. Evita Antony (Assistant Professor, Department of English, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology) was the Resource Person. Total of 40 Students were take part the programme. Life Skill Training Programme- Yoga Orientation
Under IQAC and Yoga Club, a life skill training programme was conducted on 17th January 2023 to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. The students got an opportunity to know, how yoga embodies units of mind and body. The students of B.Com Finance and Taxation Batch 2, Sem II, along with their class tutor Ms. Rosmy Joseph, unless the guidance of yoga champion Ms. Ansu Mary Saji did various yoga practices like vriksasana, Trikonasana, uttanasana, Eka Pada malasana and finally ended with soorya namaskaram and meditation. Students applauded the meticulous effort of the faculty towards the end.
Life Skill Training Programme
Post Graduate Department of Commerce of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanassery in, organises Life Skill Training Programme in Association with on 25th January 2023, at 2.00 pm in the room no.707 Dr. P. Sabil Raj (B.Sc., BHMS, Physician, Royal Homoeopathic Medical Centre Kalavoor, Alappuzha) was the Chief Guest. 44 students were take part the function. The programme begins with a prayer song. Dr. Varghese Antony (Vice Principal & HOD of Commerce) delivered the welcome speech. The outcome of the program was what is the ambition of your life. Life skill are abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable human to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life and with some examples. The programme ends with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Jithu George.
Workshop on Communicative Hindi
A Workshop on Communicative Hindi was organized for the First Year B.Com. Finance and Taxation Batch 1 students on 13 January 2023 from 9.00 am to 10.00 am. Ms. Smitha Retnan, Assistant Professor at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology was the resource person. The workshop aims at developing the students’ basic language skills in Hindi. This workshop aided in improving the speaking skills of the students in Hindi language which may help them in future for their day to day communication. The programme came to an end with words of gratitude by Ms. Jeeva James.
Induction On Malayalam Language

Computer Applications Batch 1l of Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised an Induction Programme on Malayalam language on 13 January 2023, at 10.00am. The workshop was about Figma it was taken by Mr. Arjun Krishna, Software Engineer, Airtory Interactive. The workshop was very useful. It helps the students to know more about Figma, Canva etc.

Workshop on Cyber Security Awareness
Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Kristu Jyothi College of Management and Technology, Changacherry organised cyber security awareness program on 24th February 2023 at 11:15 am. The class began with providing awareness and basic knowledge cyber problems and issues. Furthermore, sir went on to talk about Internet scams, fake website awareness. Awareness about using public Wi-Fi and using Internet financial instruments. We should be aware of all the cyber threats and take corrective actions in using such applications, also be aware about the Indian laws against such fraudulent cases, IT acts etc.
Workshop on Basics of MS Word
An ICT Workshop on the basics of MS Word was organized for the First Year B.Com. Finance and Taxation Batch 1 students on 17 January 2023 from 2-3 pm. Ms. Sinu Mary Devasia, Assistant Professor at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry was the resource person. The workshop aims at developing the students’ basic skills in ICT. This workshop aided in improving the students’ practical knowledge in microsoft word which they need in future in their day to day life. The programme came to an end with words of gratitude by Ms. Sanishma Shaik.
ICT Skill Development Programme
Post Graduate Department of Commerce of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanassery in, organizes ICT Skill Development Programme in association with IQAC on 14th February 2023, at 2.00pm in the room no: 707. Mr. Sreejith M (Career Guidance and Marketing Officer, MAAC Kottayam) was the Chief Guest. Total of 46 Students took part the Function. The programme begins with a prayer song by Ms. Richu Shaji. Ms. Aksa Ann Santhosh delivered the welcome speech. The outcome of the program was giving students a knowledge about animation. Animation is a method by which still figures are manipulated to appear as moving images. Also some extracurricular activities were conducted by the students. The programme ends with the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Joe George Anil.
Activity I
Soft Skill also known as power skills , common skills, essential skills are applicable to all professions. These can include good communication and leadership, problem solving and time management. Soft skills are effective communication and interpersonal relationships. They enable us to understand and express Ideas and thoughts. The PG Department of Commerce at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology conducted the Soft Skill Training programme. The programme,aim of students are able to soft skill ability and self confidence. The programme distigushed was the idea taken by Ms.Saaji Sudhir was held on 15 th September 2023.The objective of this programme was provide valuable insights and information to the commerce students. Soft skill is very important thing on the new generation life.

On November 8 th 2023, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kristu Jyoti
College of Management and Technology (KCMT), organized a Workshop for B.com Computer applications sem -3 students. The aim was to provide students the working knowledge behind day to day activities of life.The event featured interaction program between the speaker and students. The talk took place at the Seminar Hall of KCMT, commencing at 2:00 pm and concluding at 4:00 pm. Mr. Emil Joseph (Alumni) shared valuable insights and experiences .Total 82 students participated in the class.

The Department of Commerece at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology organized a programme titled "Interview and Group discussion" on 17 Jan 2024, from 9 am to 11 am. The objective of this program was to provide valuable insights and information on how to attend an interview and group discussion.The session was really insightful and will help us in the future.
The first half of the session contained information relating to how to attend an interview and once we get selected how we should attend a group discussion.The manners and discipline we should keep during an interview.It was very helpful to know how even a single gesture could impact our interview.The session was explained to us in a very different persepective.
We formed different groups and learned how we wanted to win as a team rather than an individual person.We learned a lot during these sessions as an individual person as well as a class.We played a game which helped us to understand if we focus on a particular goal we could always achieve anything in life.The session motivated students to set ambitious career goals and work diligently towards achieving these goal with atmost hardwork.

After forming the group, each group was called upon the stage to talk about a particular topic.The group was given 1 minute to gather necessary information and discuss the topic among themselves.
Each group discussed and started talking on their given topic. This session helped each student to understand where they stood and how they can improve themselves. The session was very well led and gave us really good insights on how to posture ourselves in a group discussion.

Finance and Taxation Batch 1 students on 17 August 2023 from 11.00 am to 12.15 pm. Ms. Evita Antony, Assistant Professor at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology was the resource person. The programme came to an end with words of gratitude by Ms. Krupa Sajan.
Activity II
The PG Department of Commerce at KCMT organized a Language Enhancement Programme on August 24, 2023, led by Assistant Professor Nisha T. The program, spanning from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM, aimed to empower students with crucial communication skills, including dynamic communication, group discussion proficiency, brainstorming techniques, and interview preparedness. Ms. Nisha T's engaging sessions covered verbal and non-verbal communication, effective listening, structuring group discussions, creative idea generation, interview etiquette, and stress management during interviews. Participants enthusiastically praised the program, noting significant improvements in their communication skills and interview readiness. Their feedback emphasized the transformative impact of the program and the need for its regular inclusion in the academic calendar, highlighting the program's vital role in their personal and professional development.
Communication Skill Enhancement Programme- “Lets Tackle The Fear “
B. Com. Computer Applications Batch 1 & 2 of Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised Communication Skill Enhancement Programme –“ Lets Tackle The Fear “ on 6 th October 2023, at 11 am to 1:00 pm in the new Examination Hall ,KJCMT. Dr. Varghese Antony, Vice Principal inaugurated the programme and Ms. Sreeja Anand (class tutor) attended the function. A Total of 62 students participated the programme .The programme began with a prayer song. Mr. Gifto Philip Mathew Class Representative delivered the welcome address. The outcome of the program was to develop the communication skill of the students to
promote the overall development of the students. The programme ends with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Nandana Ratheesh , Student Coordinator.
Career Counseling Programme(IELTS Language Skill Development Programme)
A Career Counseling Programme was conducted on 29 th November, 2023. The programme was focused to the first year B.com students. The Department of Commerce at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology organized a career guidance programme on 29 th November 2023, from 3pm to 4pm. The objective of this career guidance programme was to inform the students about the importance of higher education, career options available and how to attend a competitive exam. The students found the career guidance session extremely helpful and understood the various career information. The students got much more clarity towards their career. The information provided to them were very useful and can help their career forward in their life. The programme increased their confidence of the students.
Seminar on English Speaking Fluency
Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organized a Seminar on English Speaking Fluency in association with IQAC to B. Com Finance and Taxation 4th Semester, batch 1 students on 27th February 2024 at 11.00 am. The Seminar started with a payer song by the college choir. Later the welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Sruthymol Joseph, Assistant professor, Post Graduate Department of Commerce and class Tutor of B. Com 4FT1.

Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organises seminar on Safe Internet Positive Attitude on 19th July 2023. Dr. Roji Thomas HOD,Post Graduate Department of Computer Application, was the resource person. Dr.Antony Mathew Principal,S.B Higher Secondary School is the chief guest of the seminar. Total of 53 participants from B. Com Finance and Taxation Batch 2 and B. Com Computer Application Batch 2 were take part in the seminar. The programme begins with a prayer song. Dr.Varghese Antony (Vice Principal & HOD of post graduate department of Commerce) delivered the welcome speech. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI (Principal, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry) delivered the presidential address. Dr.Antony Mathew Principal,S.B Higher Secondary School inaugurated the workshop and delivered the inaugural address. The outcome of the program was to create an awareness among the students about the use of internet, advantages and its limitations. The workshop ends with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sanishma Shiek (B. Com 3ft1).
