INTERNATIONAL FAMILY DAY
(Essay Writing Competition)
International Family day is celebrated on May 15th every year. As part of the International Family day celebration, an essay writing competition on the topic “Changes in family life and relationships during the covid-19 pandemic” was organized by Mr Christin Mathew (Assistant Professor, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and technology).The entry was open for all the students of Kristu Jyoti college. The participants were asked to send their entries through the mail id mgtkcmt@gmail.com. The entry was open from 10th May 2021 to 15th May 2021. The best two entry will be awarded with certificates. All together there was 25 entries. From these entries best two was selected. Ms. Renju Alex (Assistant Professor, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and technology) and Ms Rinu Elizabeth George (Assistant Professor, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and technology), were the judges. Anju Eapan (MHRM, 2nd semester) got the first prize and Jissa Mariam Wilson(BA English , 2nd Semester) got the second prize. Certificates were issued for the winners.
VIRTUAL ONAM CELEBRATION – VEETIL ORU ONAM
The onam celebration programs was an idea taken up by the Management Department owing to the COVID times. The program coordinators conducted the programs with utmost care and the topic of the onam celebrations was “Veetil oru Onam”. The meeting on 20th August 2020 was presided over by the Head of the Department, Prof.Thomas Mathew. The whole program was attended by 60 participants on Google Meet platform. The onam programs was engaging and lively including the students, teacher’s and other participants with fun filled games. The students of the Management Department department conducted a bunch of variety programs through online with a full burst of fun and energy. The celebrations ended successfully by a vote of thanks by Aswani Anil of third year BBA. 4. The students were required to send the videos of their performances to the coordinators and organizers of the programme. The videos of the programmes were telecasted via google meet .All the first year students showcased their different talents and mesmerized the principal and the teaching fraternity.
CULTURAL DAY – 2020
(For BBA 1ST YEAR-BATCH 2020-2023 )
A virtual Cultural Festival was organized by department of management studies for the first year students (Batch 2020-2023) on December 7,2020 from 3.00PM to 5.00PM in association with IQAC. The event was conducted in order to find the hidden talents of all the first year students. The event was inaugurated by the college Principal Rev Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy. Professor Thomas Mathew and first year class tutor, Mrs Renju Alex felicitated the virtual cultural fest
The major events of the cultural fest included Solo, Solo Dance, Elocution – (English, Malayalam & Hindi), Instrumental Music, Recitation – (English, Malayalam & Hindi) , Mono Act, Mimicry & Art Work –(Bottle Art, Pot Decoration, Dream Catcher Making & Paper Craft) All events are individual events consist of two parts: Self introduction and event performance. CHRISTMAS MEET- 2020
We all love Christmas and to make this Christmas season a memorable one, the 3rd semester students of the Post Graduate Department of Management Studies of Kristu jyoti college of management and technology celebrated their Christmas on 22nd December with their class tutor and other teachers of the department via the google meet from 10.00 AM to 11.00AM. The students were all excited for the celebration as this was the first time they were attending a virtual X’mas celebration. Rev Fr.Joshy cheeramkuzhy CMI,Principal of Kristu Jyoti college of management and technology inaugurated the celebration. Professor Thomas Mathew , Head of the department and Mr Christin Mathew ,Class tutor conveyed the christmas message and greetings. Students sung the christmas carol. The students enjoyed playing games which were conducted online by the teachers. Students shared their joy of the christmas time and wished each other the blessings of Christmas. The meeting ended by 11.00 AM.
Mental health during Covid pandemic
A webinar on ‘Mental health during Covid pandemic’ was organized by Mrs Renju Alex, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology. The webinar was conducted in order to create awareness among students on the importance of utilising one’s time in maintaining Mental health along with Physical health during this pandemic. The webinar was inaugurated by Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, Principal of Kristu Jyoti College which was then followed by a prayer and welcome speech by the first-year students of BBA department. The speaker of the session was Dr. Angel Thomas, HOD of Psychology department, Kristu Jyoti College who is also an RCI licensed clinical psychologist. Through this session, she gave a detailed explanation on different reasons for mental depression in today’s generation, its consequences and solutions to tackle this problem. 82 students from the Department of Management attended the session After the speech, the webinar was followed by a Q/A session which encouraged students to share their thoughts on this topic. As a whole, the webinar turned out to be very informative for all the participants.
OPPORTUNITIES AND CAREER PROSPECTS – CMA US
A webinar on Opportunities and Career Prospects with US CMA was organized by International Skill Development Organisation (ISDC) in association with Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry on January 20, 2021. The webinar was conducted to create awareness among students regarding the job opportunities and salary package after completing US CMA (Certified Management Accountants),which is an advanced professional certification designed to measure the critical accounting and financial management skills. The webinar was attended by a total of 188 students from the Department of Management and Commerce. The webinar was headed by Mr. Fenil Vadakken ( Manager, Relationship Development India, IMA ) and Mr.Sharath Venugopal( Regional Head Institutional Partnerships, Kerala, ISDC). The webinar began as an interactive session during which CMA program structure, coaching for US CMA exam through ISDC team, CMA exam pattern, study materials required and career options after CMA was explained in detail. ISDC team then concluded the webinar by a question and answer session which encouraged the students to share their thoughts and doubts on the course. As a whole the webinar turned out to be very informative and enriching.
