Webinar on the Importance of Gender Equality

The Women Cell of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology in association with IQAC and Jilla Vanitha Shishu Vikasana Office and Mahila Shakthi Kendra has organized a webinar on the importance of Gender equality on 25^th November, 2021 at 11.15 am. The session was conducted online through Zoom platform. Ms Benny Wilson was the key speaker of the day and has provided her valuable insights on the difference between gender and sex. She has also discussed various patriarchal notions conditioned to both men and women as they grow up.  A total of 100 students participated in the event online .Following the session, various doubts and questions from participants were addressed and discussed.

MENSTRUAL HYGIENE

A webinar on MENSTRUAL HYGIENE was  held on 25 January 2022 by the women cell in association with Internet Quality Assurance Cell at KCMT. The session was conducted on google meet platform at 11:30 am. The session successfully sheds light on the Do’s and Don'ts of hygiene practice and the various sanitary products. The resource person Dr. Zue Ann zachariah, Assistant Proffessor of Medicine, Government Medical College Kottayam, undoubtedly did a great job, enlightening our young women. Menstruation is a normal physiological process among women. However, it is surrounded with social taboos and supernatural beliefs. The webinar gave a wide insight to certain practices that should be followed for proper hygiene. A total of 80 students participated in the event online .Following the session, various doubts and questions from participants were addressed and discussed.

Hair Donation Camp

The women cell of Kristu Jyoti College of  Management and Technology in association with  Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Sargakshethra Women’s Forum has organized a hair donation camp for the students of the college on 04-March- 2022 to commemorate World Cancer Day. Students actively contributed to the noble cause. The collected hair for wig making was handed over to the official Members of Sargakshetra Cultural and Charitable trust  on 28th April 2022.

International Women's Day-Seminar  “Gender Equality"

The women cell of Kristu Jyoti College of  Management and Technology in association with  Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Sargakshethra Women’s Forum has organized a seminar on the topic “Gender Equality“on 5^th  March 2022 to commemorate International Women's Day which is observed globally on 8th March every year. The Key speaker of the session was Ms Prameela Devi, former member of Kerala Women’s Commission. The session began at 10 am at Seminar Hall, KCMT. Ms Prameela Devi has shared her valuable insight and knowledge on the topic quoting many instances from her personal life. Members of Sargakshetra Cultural and Charitable trust were also present in the event. A  total of 113 participants have attended the seminar. The session concluded with an interactive discussion clarifying various questions and doubts relating to the topic
