Activities 2023-2024

Activity I

NISM Financial Education Programme from NISM KONA KONA Shiksha 

Post Graduate Department of Commerce of Kristu Jyoti College of  Management and Technology, Changanassery in, organises A Financial Awareness Programme from NISM KONA KONA Shiksha for the Final Year B.Com students on 21 September 2023 & 23 September 2023 from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.  Dr. Liance Mathew, Licensed Securities Market Trainer of SEBI & Assistant Professor, The Cochin College, Kochi was the resource person. Students attended a ten hour session after a pre-test. Students got participation certificate and pass certificates from NISM. The programme was accepted by the students in a welcoming manner. Students are benefited by getting an overall understanding about the securities market in detail and career opportunities in Financial Service Industry.

 

 

Activity II

Anti -Drug awareness Programme

On November 3 rd 2023, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology (KCMT), organized an Anti –Drug Awareness Class for B.com Computer applications sem -1 students. The occasion aimed to raise awareness and educate the undergraduate students about the pressing issue of drug abuse and illicit trafficking .The event featured a compelling invited talk by Mr. Rajesh R, a distinguished Civil Excise Officer from the Excise Range Office in Changanacherry. The talk took place at the Seminar Hall of KCMT, commencing at 2:pm am and concluding at 3:30 pm. Mr. Rajesh R shared valuable insights and experiences, shedding light on the grave consequences of drug abuse and the importance of curbing illicit trafficking .Total 61 students participated in the class.

       

 

Activity III

Workshop -Empower U:Skills to Change the World

On November 8th 2023, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology (KCMT), organized a Workshop for B.com Computer applications sem -3 students. The aim was to provide students the working knowledge behind day to day activities of life. The event featured interaction program between the speaker and students. The talk took place at the Seminar Hall of KCMT, commencing at 2:00 pm and concluding at 4:00 pm. Mr. Emil Joseph  (managing director of Crafts Comic, Alumni Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology)shared valuable insights and experiences .Total 82 students participated in the class.

     

 

Activity IV

Seminar On How to Develop Start-up Ecosystem in Colleges

Post Graduate Department of Commerce Conducted a Seminar on How to develop Start-up Ecosystem in Colleges on 10 th November
2023 at New Exam Hall. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Mathew C D (Assistant Professor and Placement Officer IIIT Kottayam). The
seminar started with a prayer song of department choir. Welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Mithun Varghese (Students Co-Ordinator) followed by the Presidential Address of Vice Principal Dr. Varghese Antony. The seminar was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Mathew C D followed by orientation session. The session was very interactive and discussed about How to develop start-up ecosystem in colleges. Seminar contains the topics of entrepreneurship scenario, operation management, entrepreneurship and start-ups, MNC thrived in pandemic period, hydroponics and IOT, GIS enabled agriculture, online education, idea to phototype, success story of open, successful    start-ups, entrepreneurial training, shift in training, incubation centers and successful stories of entrepreneurs. Words of gratitude was
extended by Ms. Amala Hormis (Students Co-Ordinator). Meeting came to an end by 4 PM.

       

 

Activity V

Workshop on Database Management System

Post Graduate Department of Commerce in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organised a Workshop on DBMS for B.Com Computer Application Sem –VI Students. on 14 th Nov 2023, from 2.00pm to 4:00 pm in Computer Lab,KJCMT. A Total of 63 students participated in the programme .The programme began with a prayer song. Mr.Tony Varghese delivered the welcome address. The outcome of the program was to make them aware of the concepts and use of Database Management System. The programme ends with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms.Varghese Francis , Student Coordinator.

   

Activity VI

Value Awareness Programme

PG Department of Commerce in association with and IQAC, conducted a life Value Awareness Programme on 15th February 2024 . The objective of this program was to provide valuable insights to the students and develop the ultimate virtue of humanity and focus on nurturing the goodness in individuals. Physical, mental, and emotional balance is necessary for personality development. Teaching universal values helps to develop righteous behavior and change the perspectives of the students. The students of B.Com Computer Applications Batch 1, Semester IV, attended the programme with great enthusiasm. Students applauded the meticulous effort of the faculty towards the end.

 

 

 

 

Activity VII

Seminar on Stress Management

Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organized a Seminar on Stress Management in association with IQAC to B. Com Finance and Taxation 4th Semester, batch 1 students on 15th February 2024 at 2.00 pm. The Seminar started with a payer song by the college choir. Later the welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Sruthymol Joseph, Assistant professor, Post Graduate Department of Commerce and class Tutor of B. Com 4FT1.

Activity VIII

SEMINAR ON “EQUAL RIGHTS TO MEN AND WOMEN”

PG Department of Commerce, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry in association with IQAC organized a seminar on “Equal Rights to Men and Women” on 12th February 2024 from 2.00 pm onwards at Room Number 701 for students of Semester IV B. Com Finance and Taxation Batch II.
The primary objective of this seminar was to raise awareness about gender equality and inspire them avoid gender discrimination in their lives. Students from Semester IV B. Com Finance and Taxation Batch II have participated enthusiastically in the seminar. The session was handled by Ms.Annie Thomas, Counsellor of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology . The program was started at 2.00 pm and concluded by 4.00 pm.

Activity IX

Seminar on Adolescent Health Issues

Seminar on Adolescent Health Issues”was organized for the Final Year girls students of B.Com. Finance and Taxation Batch 1and 2 and B.Com Computer Appications on 16 February 2024 from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Dr.Anoop Krishnan ,Consultant Gynaecologist, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology ,St.Thomas Hospital was the resource person. The programme came to an end with words of gratitude by Ms. Krupa Sajan.

Activity X

 Insight Programme

PG Department of Commerce in association with and IQAC, conducted an awareness programme, INSIGHT on 14th February 2024 . The objective of this program was to provide valuable insights to the students and develop the ultimate virtue of humanity and focus on nurturing the goodness in individuals. Physical, mental, and emotional balance is necessary for personality development. Teaching universal values helps to develop righteous behavior and change the perspectives of the students. The students of B.Com Computer Applications Batch I1, Semester IV, attended the programme with great enthusiasm. Students applauded the meticulous effort of the faculty towards the end.

Activity IX

A SEMINAR ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

The Post Graduate Department of commerce at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology organized a seminar on titled “INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS ” on 28 th February 2024, from 11.15 AM to 1.15 pm. The objective of this program was to provide valuable insights and information to our post graduate students and faculties about Intellectual properties act and different types The esteemed resource person for the event was Mr. Bichu S Nair , Assistant Professor from the Department of Commerce and Management at St.Paul”s college kalamassery The program commenced with a welcome speech by Ms., followed by a presidential address delivered by Mr.Thomaskutty M.O Course Coordinator . The event concluded with a vote of thanks given by Ms. Aarel Maria Thomas.The session provided valuable information regarding intellectual property rights and exaplain various examples connected to patent, trade mark etc,
