International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
The Anti-Narcotic Cell of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), commemorated the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with a thoughtful and impactful event. The event included a street play followed by a pledge-taking ceremony, aimed at raising awareness about the perils of drug abuse and the importance of combating illicit trafficking. The event commenced with a powerful street play that vividly portrayed the devastating consequences of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society as a whole.
Invited talk to commemorate “The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”
On June 26, 2023, the Anti-narcotic cell, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology (KCMT), organized a special event to mark “The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.” The occasion aimed to raise awareness and educate the undergraduate students of KCMT about the pressing issue of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.The event featured a compelling invited talk by Mr. Rajesh R, a distinguished Civil Excise Officer from the Excise Range Office in Changanacherry.
Street Play to commemorate “ The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” in Collaboration with St Rita’s Hospital, Changanassery.
The nursing students of St. Rita’s Hospital in Changanassery organized an impactful street play on the occasion of the “International Day Against Drug Abuse” at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology. The event, held on 26/07/23, aimed to raise awareness about the grave consequences of drug abuse in our society. The performance was a brilliant amalgamation of creativity and education, engaging the audience with its powerful message.
“Walkathon” : A step against Drug Abuse
The Anti Narcotic Cell of Kristu Jyoti College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Sargakshetra Changanacherry, a non-governmental organization (NGO) with special consultative status with the United Nations, organized a significant event titled “Walkathon: A step against Drug Abuse.” The primary objective of the programme was to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle among the youth. On November 16, 2023, the Kristu Jyoti College Portico played host to the “Walkathon Against Drug Abuse.” Ms. Gopika Sali, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology, initiated the event with a poignant prayer, setting a contemplative tone for the day. Rev Dr Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, the esteemed Principal of Kristu Jyoti College, delivered a gracious welcome speech, expressing sincere gratitude to participants, organizers, and supporters for their unwavering commitment to the cause.
Dr. Varghese Antony, Vice Principal of Kristu Jyoti College, then administered an oath, underscoring the collective responsibility to combat drug abuse and safeguard the community from its adverse effects. The event was graced by the inauguration and flag-off ceremony officiated by Bishop Thomas Tharayil, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry, infusing the initiative with a profound spiritual and communal significance. Mr. Sibichen Tharakamparambil, Chairman of the Walkathon, concluded the formal proceedings with a heartfelt vote of thanks. In his expression of gratitude, he acknowledged the invaluable contributions of participants, sponsors, and collaborators, underscoring their pivotal role in the success of the Walkathon. The Walkathon route, undertaken by predominantly student participants, spanned from Kristu Jyoti College to Kurisummoodu Junction at Changanacherry. This symbolic journey served as a powerful reminder of the collective effort required to combat the pervasive issue of drug abuse in our society. The event, characterized by its solemnity and purpose, successfully fulfilled its objectives of raising awareness and fostering a sense of shared responsibility in the ongoing fight against drug abuse.
Logo Launch of Anti Narcotic Cell
On 26/09/2023, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology unveiled the emblem for its Anti Narcotic Cell, marking a significant stride in the institution’s commitment to fostering a drug-free campus environment. The logo launch event was a momentous occasion attended by faculty, students, and esteemed guests.The emblem, a symbol of resilience and determination, reflects the Anti Narcotic Cell’s mission to create awareness and combat substance abuse within the college community. The design incorporates elements that signify unity, education, and a resolute stand against narcotics. The launch event featured insightful speeches from key figures associated with the Anti Narcotic Cell, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in addressing this societal concern. As the logo takes its place as a visual representation of the Anti Narcotic Cell, it serves as a constant reminder of the institution’s commitment to promoting a healthy and drug-free learning environment. The event concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and a collective pledge to work towards a safer and drug-resistant campus.
