Training Session on Anti- Drug Awareness Programme
The Anti Narcotic Cell, in collaboration with IQAC, organized a training session titled “Anti Drug Awareness Program” –aimed at enlightening students about the adverse effects of drug usage, for first-year B Com degree students. The program focused to create awareness among youngsters about the psychological and physical impacts of drug abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle.
The inaugural session took place on 14th January, 2025 from 11:15 AM to 01:15 PM at the New Examination Hall, with a total of 102 participants in attendance. The resource person for the event was Mr. Pradeep Kumar V N , Asst. Excise Inspector ,Excise Range Office, Changanacherry.The day primarily focused on by providing an insightful overview of the alarming prevalence of drug usage in Kerala, particularly among youngsters. He highlighted statistical data and case studies to bring clarity to the issue.
The resource person elaborated on the definition of drugs, including their psychological and physiological aspects. He explained the various types of drugs commonly abused and their mechanisms of action on the human body.The session covered in-depth discussions on the short-term and long-term effects of drug usage on the human body. Mr. Pradeep Kumar emphasized how drug abuse impacts mental health, physical well-being, and social relationships. The program was highly interactive, with students actively participating throughout the session. Mr. Pradeep Kumar encouraged queries, making the session engaging and thought-provoking.
Towards the end, a dedicated question-and-answer session allowed students to clarify their doubts and concerns. The resource person provided insightful and practical responses, addressing the participants’ queries comprehensively.
