The inauguration of ASWIK marks a significant milestone in developing a commitment toward the professional development of students. The inauguration ceremony was conducted on 5th September 2024 at conference hall. 26 students and 4 faculty members attended the session. The association will represent the hard work, dedication and vision of our team Networking Opportunities The event commenced with a warm welcome speech delivered by TSW Fyruza Rahim, who greeted the attendees and highlighted the significance of the occasion. The highlight of the event was the Presidential Address by Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheramkuzhy, CMI, who eloquently spoke on the theme, emphasizing the importance of unity, knowledge, and the transformative role of education in personal and societal growth. Following his inspiring speech, Fr. Joshy officially inaugurated the association by lighting the lamp, a symbolic gesture representing the illumination of knowledge and the dawn of new beginnings. After the inauguration, Fr. Dr. Joshy George administered the oath to the council members. Each member stood before the audience, raised their right hand, and solemnly pledged to uphold the duties and responsibilities of their positions. Dr. Surya Krishna, Head of the Department, then felicitated the gathering, followed by the official release of the association's logo. The inauguration ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by TSW Sreya B, marking the end of a memorable and impactful event.

SOCIAL WORK ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION
The Postgraduate Department of Social Work, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology conducted the Social Work Association Inauguration on 7th August 2025 at the Conference Hall of the college. The programme began with a prayer song by the department choir, followed by a welcome address by Ellena Susan, student MSW SEM 1. The Presidential Address was delivered by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheramkuzhy, CMI, who highlighted the significance of social work education and service to society. The association was formally inaugurated through the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the beginning of a new academic and professional journey. The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers was administered by Adv. Dr. Joseph Sam, marking the formal assumption of responsibilities by the student representatives.
The programme was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Advocate Sister Jyothis SD, whose address inspired students with insights on social justice, child welfare, and professional commitment. Cultural performances, including a violin recital, product launch, and report publication, added value to the event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, and it witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The Social Work Association aims to function as a platform beyond classroom learning, fostering leadership, collaboration, professional growth, and active student involvement in academic and social initiatives.

Interdepartmental Programme – “Buddy Bash”
The Social Work Association of the Postgraduate Department of Social Work, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology conducted an Interdepartmental Programme titled “Buddy Bash” on 30 July 2025 for students across various departments of the college. The programme was organized as an association-led initiative, with the aim of promoting interdepartmental interaction, peer bonding, and co-curricular engagement among students. As per the discussions held in the association and departmental meetings, the venue and activities were finalized. The programme was coordinated under the guidance of faculty coordinator Ms. Treesa Delight.
A wide range of interactive and recreational activities were conducted, including fun games, food stalls, online competitions, song dedication booths, e-football matches, cut-post penalty shootouts, dumbbell holding contests, and card games. Students from both UG and PG programmes actively participated in the event, showcasing enthusiasm, creativity, and healthy competitive spirit. The programme provided students with a refreshing break from academic routines while fostering teamwork, leadership, and social connectedness. Overall, the event received an enthusiastic response, and participants appreciated the opportunity to collaborate, interact, and celebrate together through a student-driven interdepartmental platform.
