Talent day
The PG Department of Social Work at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology organized talent day named “Lumina” on 8 august 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm at conference hall. A total of 35 students and 4 faculty members attended the program. The objective of a Talent Day is to identify, showcase, and celebrate the diverse skills and abilities of our students. It provides a platform for participants to demonstrate their talents, fostering a sense of recognition and encouragement. The event commenced with heartfelt prayer song performed by the department choir team. TSW Sreya B delivered the welcome speech, warmly greeted attendees and outlined the significance of the event. The highlight of the event was the Presidential Address by Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheramkuzhy, CMI, father pointed that talent day can serve as a way to build team spirit, promote creativity, and inspire others to explore and develop their own potential. The official program was concluded with vote of thanks by TSW Fyruza Rahim.
After the official meeting students of both first year MSW & BSW presented various cultural programs such as solo song, group dance, duet song, group song and played various instruments.
Cultural fest
The PG Department of Social Work, as part of its rural camp initiative, organized a community program on 29th November 2024 at Kuluthupuzha in Kollam District, focusing on the Kadamankode tribal community. The program aimed to foster community engagement, celebrate local traditions, and create a platform for the Kadamankode tribe to share their cultural heritage. The event was held in the heart of Kuluthupuzha, where the community gathered to participate in a day of cultural exchange and mutual learning. One of the key aspects of the program was the active participation of the Kadamankode tribal community, who presented their traditional art forms, including Kaikottikali (a traditional folk dance), regional songs, and a figure show led by Mr. Dinesh, a prominent community member. The program emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous cultural expressions while providing an avenue for the community to showcase their talent and heritage to a wider audience. The event was attended by local community members, including elders, youth, and children, as well as students and Principal, faculity from the PG Department of Social Work. The performances not only brought attention to the cultural richness of the Kadamankode tribal community but also served as a reminder of the significance of community-driven initiatives in preserving indigenous tradition.
