Gender Equity Programme- Workshop On Home Chef
Under IQAC, the Post Graduate Department of Commerce organizes a Gender Equity Programme on 21st February 2023 between 12.15 pm and 1.15 pm for the male students of B.Com Finance and Taxation Batch- II and B.Com Computer Applications Batch II (Second Semester). Mr. Jeffin M Reji was the resource person. Through the session the boys were able to understand and reflect on the role of females in the society and how boys should also play a role in understanding the obstacles & struggles faced by people around. The Session was a beneficial one for the boys.
Activity I
Let’s enhance knowledge about Gender Equity
A Gender Equity Programme titled “Let’s enhance knowledge about Gender Equity” was organized for the First Year B.Com. Finance and Taxation Batch II & B.Com Computer Applications Batch II students on 25 July 2023 from 11.15 am to 12.45 pm. Mr. Jefin M Reji, College Counsellor at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology was the resource person. The programme came to an end with words of gratitude by Ms. Liya Rachel Saji.
The programme was accepted by the students in a welcoming manner. The majority of the students found the session as highly relevant to their social concerns.
1) The programme aims at enhancing the knowledge about gender equity.
2) This session will help them to have a good prospect about the other gender
Activity II
Seminar on Gender Equity
Seminar on gender equity”was organized for the second semester students of B.Com. Finance and Taxation Batch on 26 February 2024 from 11.15 am to 12.15 pm. Ms. Annie Thomas ,Counsellor, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology was the resource person.
Activity I
Orientation Class on Gender Equity
An orientation class on gender equity was conducted for the B.Com Finance and Taxation Batch 3 students, led by Ms. Anu Mercy Zachariah, an esteemed faculty member from the Post Graduate Department of Commerce. The session focused on the critical issue of gender equity and its role in fostering equality of opportunity for all, irrespective of gender.
Respected speaker began the session by explaining the difference between gender equity and gender equality, emphasizing that equity is about providing everyone with the necessary resources to succeed, while equality involves treating everyone the same, regardless of individual needs. She used examples from both the corporate world and daily life to show how gender biases often result in unequal access to opportunities.
