SEMINAR 2021-2022
Under the banner of English Literary Association, Melange, a seminar was organised on March 25, 2022 at 2 PM in the seminar hall of Kristu Jyoti college. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhi CMI, inaugurated the meeting and delivered the inaugural address. The students of the English Department participated in the inaugural function. Mr.Josy Joseph, Associate Professor, SB College, Changanacherry, conducted the seminar on the topic, “Shakespeare and the Postcolonial Question”. Mr. Josy Joseph shared valuable insights regarding the topic. An interactive session with the students was organised at the end of the session.
SEMINAR 2022-2023
The Department of English in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology has organized an effective entrepreneurship discourse on “Start Up India & Stand Up India” on Tuesday, 26th July, 2022 at 2 pm in the seminar hall. Dr. Thomas George K, Director & Chairman, LEAD College of Management, Dhoni, Palakkad is honoured with the title of Guinness World Record holder for Longest Business Lesson for a duration of 72 hours was the guest speaker and resource person for the day. The seminar began exactly on time with the inauguration ceremony. Rev Fr Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI presided over the function and Mr. Cijo Joseph Chennelil gave the felicitation to the gathering. Dr. Thomas George K gave a wonderful lecture on the topic “ Start Up India & Stand Up India” which is a very relevant subject to be discussed amidst the unprecedented times due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The English Association coming under the Department of English was inaugurated by Dr. B Keralavarma, Associate Professor, Government College, Kottayam in the presence of Rev.Fr.Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, Principal Kristu Jyoti College on 1st October 2018. In his Inaugural address the Chief Guest, Dr. Keralavarma dealt at length the definition associated with the question, what is Literature?
Activity II
Dr. V.C. Harrris memorial Lectures had been inaugurated by Mr. Josy Joseph, Associate Professor, S.B College Changanassery on 11th October 2018. He was also one of the closest associates of late V.C Harris. The formal function was presided over by Rev.Fr.Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, Principal, Kristu Jyoti College. The disciples of Dr.V.C Harris, Mr.Cijo Joseph and Mr.Binu Sir shared their memories about V.C Harris on this occasion. Mr.Josy Joseph in his keynote address unearthed all aspects concerning the life and career of Dr.V.C Harris.

English Department of KCMT College organised Dr. V. C. Harris Memorial Lecture second year in a row on 29th August 2019 at the Seminar Hall of the college on the topic “Dr. V. C. Harris – Lingering Memories – Literature, History, Culture: New Perspectives”. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Aju K. Narayanan (Assistant Professor, School of Letters, M. G. University). It was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI (Principal, KCMT) and presided over by Mr. Cijo Joseph Chennelil (HOD), English Department of KCMT

Career Guidance Workshop
The Department of English, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology has organized a comprehensive Two-Day Career Guidance Workshop on August 9th and 14th, 2023. The workshop aimed to provide students with valuable insights into various career opportunities available to English graduates, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their future paths.

"Future Prospects after Graduation"
The Department of English at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology organized a career guidance programme titled "Future Prospects after Graduation" on 14th July 2023, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The objective of this program was to provide valuable insights and information to our graduating students about various career options available to them after completing their studies. The esteemed resource person for the event was Mr. Neville Thomas, Assistant Professor from the Department of English at St. Berchmans College, Changanacherry.
