The Yoga Club of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology spreads awareness about the importance of yoga among the students as well as the staff members. The Yoga Club conducts programmes for staff and students to understand the importance of maintaining good health, both physically and mentally. We actively work on yoga principles and try to find a ray of wisdom that brings real happiness and inner peace into our hearts.

INAUGURAL CEREMONY : INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION
Yoga Club of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology Chenganacherry hosted an event to celebrate the International Yoga Day and to inaugurate the opening of the ‘Yoga Club’ in the college. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. M.G. Dileep (M.Sc. Yoga Therapy, Vice President of Pathanamtitta Yoga Association). The event started with a prayer song(by Sree Valli and Zuhaira), welcome note was delivered by Dr. Varghese Antony(VicePrincipal, HOD of commerce), followed by the presidential addressing by Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI(Principal) After the presidential addressing, it was a solo song (by Sruthy K. Thomas). The event was continued by the lighting of the lamp to inaugurate the ‘Yoga Club’ along with the inaugural addressing by the chief guest. The inaugural addressing was very interactive with the guest teaching various facts of yoga and showing a breathing technique. After the inaugural addressing, International books of record holder Miss Ansu Mary Saji for the title “Longest time to hold front split between two chairs” was honoured with ponnada by Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI(Principal). The event continued with a group performance named “Free Flow Yoga Dance” (by Abin and team). Followed by a solo yoga performance by Ansu Mary. The event was concluded by the vote of thanks (by Sharon Abraham) and signing off by the MC(Swaroop Warrier).
Life Skill Development for MSc Psychology : Yoga training
Post Graduate Department of Psychology in association with IQAC of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry organized a life skill development program on yoga training on 24th February 2023, at 11.15 a.m. Ms. Ansu Mary Saji was the resource person. The target audience was the students of MSc Psychology fourth semester and 7 participants participated in the training. The program began with a prayer song by Arya PN. Ms. Esther Anna Joy, Assistant Professor, delivered the welcome speech. The program focused on providing hands-on training on the basics of yoga. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Amal Ashok.
Life Skill Development for BBA and MAHRM : Yoga training
Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aim to control, recognizing a detached witness-consciousness untouched by the mind and suffering. As BBA students need some motivation and encouragement, the Post Graduate Department of Management Studies provided them with a yoga session which helps them to make there mind calm and relaxed. It was conducted on 22nd February 2023 in association with IQAC for the students of BBA.
As MAHRM students need some motivation and encouragement before there exams we the Post Graduate Department of Management Studies provided them with a yoga session which helps them to make there mind calm and attentive. It was conducted on 21st February 2023 in association with IQAC for the students of MAHRM.
Life Skill Development for B.Sc Geology : Yoga training
Department of Geology, Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanacherry in association with IQAC organized a yoga training session as part of Life Skill Development Programme on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 11.15 pm onwards at Room No. 504 for First Year Geology students.
Life Skill Development for B.Com : Yoga training
Under IQAC and Yoga Club, a life skill training programme was conducted on 17th January 2023 to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. The students got an opportunity to know, how yoga embodies units of mind and body. The students of B.Com Finance and Taxation Batch 2, Sem II, along with their class tutor Ms. Rosmy Joseph, unless the guidance of yoga champion Ms. Ansu Mary Saji did various yoga practices like vriksasana, Trikonasana, uttanasana, Eka Pada malasana and finally ended with soorya namaskaram and meditation. Students applauded the meticulous effort of the faculty towards the end.

Yoga coaching classes provide the students to get an opportunity to know, how yoga embodies units of mind and body.
Participation and achievements in Yoga Championships
Yoga Sports are athletic competitions demonstrated by the beauty of demanding yoga postures and through the dedication, endurance and unyielding determination of the competitors. The aim behind initiating competitive yoga was to bring awareness about yoga, its benefits and spiritual background in young community. The traditional Yogasana form of sport is where the participant has to perform the yogic postures (body postures) with proper technique and sequence as and maintain the posture for the given time with breath synchronicity and breathe retention wherever it is required.
Yoga Club members has participated in several yoga competitions which were organised at university, state and national level competitions. The student co coordinator of Yoga Club, Miss. Ansu Mary Saji bagged several prizes in such competitions. She is the International Book Of Records Holder for longest time to hold front split between two chairs.

The event started with a prayer song(by Annu Ann Mathew and Dona Maria Thomas), welcome note was delivered Ms. Mismi Elizabeth followed by the presidential addressing by Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI(Principal) After the presidential addressing, it was a solo song (by Ms. Abhirami Pradeep). The event was continued by the lighting of the lamp to inaugurate the ‘Yoga Club’ along with the inaugural addressing by the chief guest. The inaugural addressing was very informative. The felicitation by Dr. Varghese Antony was very motivational. The event continued with a group performance named “Free Flow Yoga Dance” (by the Yoga Club Members. The event was concluded by the vote of thanks (by Linta Abraham) . After the official ceremony the Chief Guest, Mrs Athira M S, conducted a yoga training session in which the yoga club members has participated with great enthusiasm.
Yoga Coaching Classes
College life is an important step stone in the life of any student. The excitement to delve into the newer realms, the expectancy of what lies ahead, and the eagerness to make the most out of college life are rampant in every college student’s mind. Added to this is the pressure of internships, extracurriculars, and studies. This is the phase when one transitions from a protected environment to a world full of responsibilities. To combat the mounting stress and to fulfill the charge of taking care of oneself, one can resort to practicing yoga routinely. Yoga can most effectively help in correcting the posture, enhancing flexibility and improving balance and thus brings balance to their whole body. The students need to balance academics, co-curricular activities, their school and social life. So the Yoga Club of Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology, Changanasserry organizes yoga coaching classes for the members of the club once in a week.

PG Department of Commerce in association with Yoga Club and IQAC, conducted a life skill training programme on 20th November 2023 to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. This was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of discipline. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day. The students got an opportunity to know, how yoga embodies units of mind and body. The students of B.Com Finance and Taxation Batch 1, Sem I, under the guidance of yoga champion Mr. Abraham Joseph, the Yoga Trainer, did various yoga practices and meditation. Students applauded the meticulous effort of the faculty towards the end.
The Yoga Certification Course at Kristu Jyoti College of Management and Technology was successfully conducted for students who actively participated in the Yoga Club from 2023 to 2025. This program was designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in yoga, aiming to enhance their physical and mental well-being.
Under the expert guidance of the renowned yoga instructor, Mr. Abraham Joseph, students were trained in various aspects of yoga, including postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and the philosophical foundations of yoga. The structured sessions combined theoretical insights with hands-on practice, allowing students to develop a comprehensive understanding of yoga's benefits.
The students reported remarkable improvements in their physical health, flexibility, concentration, and emotional balance as a result of their consistent practice. The course not only fostered discipline and mindfulness but also helped students manage stress effectively.
To successfully complete the certification, students were required to fulfill all course requirements, including assignments, practical sessions, and a viva examination. Those who demonstrated dedication and successfully met the assessment criteria were awarded a Yoga Certification, acknowledging their commitment and proficiency in yoga.
The Yoga Certification Course has significantly contributed to the holistic development of students, equipping them with lifelong skills for physical and mental well-being. The institution appreciates the valuable contribution of Mr. Abraham Joseph and the enthusiastic participation of students in making this program a success.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME -ZUMBA
PG Department of Commerce in association with Yoga Club and IQAC, conducted a life skill training programme on 10th October 2024 for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing stress. The training commenced promptly at 11.15 a.m. with welcome speach by Mr. Abin Shaji. After that the session was handled by Mr. Shiyas Kerim, the Zumba trainer. The students enthusiastically participated in the session to enhance the physical and mental well-being.
